How do you brief a pouch or packaging film?

Start with the contents and filling conditions, then specify the bag format or reel details. Material structure and suitability need confirmation for the actual use.

Describe what goes inside

Describe whether the contents are solid, powder or liquid, and explain the filling, sealing, storage and transport conditions. If barrier or temperature performance is important, state the required conditions instead of choosing a material by appearance.

Choose a bag format or reel specification

For a pouch, specify width, height, gusset or base, and any zipper, tear or dispensing requirements. For roll film, provide web width, repeat length, core size, winding direction and packing-machine requirements. The catalogue shows formats; final availability is confirmed by the supplier.

Match evidence to the exact product

A supplier management-system certificate is different from a test report for a specific material or sample. Check the named company, scope, dates, surveillance status and any sample-specific results. Keep unresolved requirements in the brief for review.
